Pembroke Anime Society
















Background: the Pembroke Anime Society was founded by Syreeta Jackson in the Fall 2000 school year at UNC at Pembroke.

Purpose: to spread awareness of the Japanese culture and language, and to expose college students to Japanese Animation.

When: every Wednesday from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Mondays at 7:00 p.m. for Japanese lessons.

Where: in the University Center room 233 for Wednesday nights and room 213 for Japanese lessons.

Cost: after attending three meetings, those who wish to become members pay a $5 fee to participate in club activities and privledges for that semester.

What do we do?: during Wednesday club meetings, we have a brief discussion and watch subtitled, dubbed, and fan subtitled Anime. On Monday nights, we have Japanese lessons taught by the club's president, Syreeta, and vice-president, Matt.
